The Christian life is not all about you. We were made for being part of something much bigger. We were made to be part of God's reclamation work, God's invasion of enemy territory. Each of us were made to be part of the best movie, the greatest plan, the most exciting adventure we can imagine. Each of us have an important part to play. We were made for so much more than what we often live and experience!
Does this excite you or scare you? My guess is that it give a bit of both!
The best news is that we do not need to go on this grand adventure all by ourselves. We are not grand epic heroes who are loners. We were not made to go through the adventure as "me and Jesus" against the world, the flesh, and the devil. We are not meant to be alone and separate.
We were and are made for community.
God made us to work with others in community. Yes, we have much to give. But, we also have much to learn, much growing to do, and a great need for encouragement and accountability. We need a community to go on the adventure with us!
